In the Multidock, I have 2 SSD drives, OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G, inserted in the first 2 slots of the Multidock. I connected the iMac Pro with the Multidock via USB-C cable (the cable was bought at OWC Macsales, for what it's worth). I also have a new iMac Pro (2017 model), running OS X 10.14.5 Mojave. SSDs inserted into the MultiDock are displayed on the HyperDeck Extreme on-screen menus, where you can select the disc for recording and playback.I just purchased the brand new Blackmagic Multidock 10 G. So there are never delays due to problems with SATA bandwidth. In addition, each bay is equipped with a completely independent hard disk interface chip. Such bandwidths are more than enough to handle video formats in the highest resolutions - including 8K footage in H.265 from HyperDeck Extreme 8K. The Blackmagic MultiDock uses advanced USB-C technology that gives you super-fast data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps over a single cable. It's also an ideal solution to make your HyperDeck Extreme 8K compatible with SSDs, making hard drives interchangeable between all HyperDeck Studio models. The Blackmagic MultiDock 10G is the perfect docking station for accessing media recorded by your URSA Mini Pro SSD Recorder. The four separate slots of the Blackmagic MultiDock allow you to read out all media from your shoot simultaneously. Simply insert the SSDs and your computer will recognize them under Mac OS X or Windows like regular hard disks. This allows you to cut directly from the same drive you recorded to. You can choose to operate with four hard drive bays via a single USB-C port or with two bays each sharing the USB-C ports. Two USB-C ports and a slide switch are located on the back of the case. Simply connect the MultiDock to the USB-C port of a Mac or Windows computer. The device is designed in such a way that the user can repair it himself and replace the connectors in all bays.
